Arrival

Well, I arrived in Phnom Penh. Its defnitely a different world. But I guess that is what you get after 3 planes and 18 hours of flying. At my arrival I defnitely fell into a little bit of culture shock. I was tired, alone, and in a place I never thought I would find myself. I currently live a little bit from the center of the city. There are some paved roads that swing through the city. However, there are many dirt roads as the one in front of where I live. You can only read so much to get you ready for asia. Experience is the only way to grasp it. I read of poverty but have never seen it like I did upon my arrival. The quality of living is nothing like the US. People liveon average salaries oh $45 per month. However, the people seem to be upbeat and do not look at the negatives.
After my inital culture shock I relaxed and went on a moto ride around town with Ponlok. I have to say this brought some joy to me after a long day of traveling. The city is definitely not your westernized city. I will go into detail another time as my internet time is running out. Talk to everyone soon. Ciao!
